ECATEPEC, M\u00c9X.\u2014 La posibilidad de que hasta dos millones de perros y gatos no deseados nazcan en Ecatepec durante los pr\u00f3ximos cinco a\u00f1os comenz\u00f3 a enfrentarse con una intervenci\u00f3n masiva: m\u00e1s de mil 200 esterilizaciones gratuitas realizadas en apenas una semana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El corte final se dio el 18 de abril, cuando la explanada municipal de San Crist\u00f3bal concentr\u00f3 la Mega Jornada de Bienestar que puso cierre a la campa\u00f1a \u201cHuellitas de Amor\u201d. Ah\u00ed, adem\u00e1s de las cirug\u00edas, se instalaron m\u00f3dulos de vacunaci\u00f3n antirr\u00e1bica, talleres para ni\u00f1as y ni\u00f1os y una pasarela de adopci\u00f3n que reuni\u00f3 a ejemplares como \u201cEclipse\u201d, \u201cTao\u201d, \u201cLana\u201d, \u201cMix\u201d, \u201cBoster\u201d \u2014un perro con deficiencia visual\u2014, \u201cCindy\u201d, y los gatos \u201cF\u00e9lix\u201d y \u201cYordi\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La presidenta municipal, Azucena Cisneros Coss, no dej\u00f3 pasar el dato central: \u201cRompimos r\u00e9cord con los lomitos en el tema de esterilizaci\u00f3n\u201d. La cifra, subray\u00f3, se alcanz\u00f3 en colonias con alta presencia de fauna en situaci\u00f3n de calle como Ciudad Cuauht\u00e9moc, Luis Donaldo Colosio, Santo Tom\u00e1s Chiconautla, La Laguna de Chiconautla y Los Bordos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El despliegue operativo incluy\u00f3 a 35 m\u00e9dicos veterinarios, 66 estudiantes, personal de cl\u00ednicas, 30 j\u00f3venes capacitados en bienestar animal y la colaboraci\u00f3n de universidades, asociaciones civiles, instituciones de salud y el sector privado. Durante los recorridos, la alcaldesa destac\u00f3 la participaci\u00f3n ciudadana: \u201caqu\u00ed hay due\u00f1os responsables de los perritos\u201d, afirm\u00f3 al observar la asistencia a las jornadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El diagn\u00f3stico de fondo es amplio: en Ecatepec se estima la presencia de cerca de un mill\u00f3n de perros y gatos en situaci\u00f3n de calle. Bajo ese contexto, el gobierno municipal impulsa el modelo CREAR \u2014Contener, Resguardar, Esterilizar, Adoptar y Retornar\u2014 como eje de atenci\u00f3n integral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En paralelo, el llamado a la adopci\u00f3n se mantuvo activo. \u201cAqu\u00ed hay perritos para adopci\u00f3n\u2026 solo quieren un poco de amor y de protecci\u00f3n. \u00a1Ay\u00fadenos!\u201d, expres\u00f3 Cisneros, al tiempo que se confirmaron m\u00e1s de seis solicitudes formales durante el evento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con los resultados obtenidos, la administraci\u00f3n municipal adelant\u00f3 que las campa\u00f1as de esterilizaci\u00f3n no ser\u00e1n temporales, sino permanentes, con el objetivo de contener el crecimiento de la poblaci\u00f3n animal y reducir el abandono en el municipio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
